New resident artist Will Pappenheimer has begun work on his Manship project under the umbrella title of “StarCloud.”

Visitors will be able to view his works through a mobile app on phones and tablets in the new medium known as augmented reality (AR). Will begins with drone scans of the property, as well as other smaller objects, which are then converted into virtual scenes coexistent with the physical world around us.

“StarCloud” is a reference to Paul Manship’s name for the property - "Starfield." Though in this case, "Cloud" refers to the way information is gathered and accessed in our contemporary technological age.

Will's works here, as in general, explore notions of art and the edge of what we assume are separate worlds of the physical, the virtual, and the imagined.

Special thanks to Stewart Copeland for conducting the first data capture of the site.
